Deskripsi

Description
"My design takes its main inspiration from the Dayak tribe of Kalimantan and their unique batik motifs. Through this design, I want to describe the "Seamless", "Harmonious", and "Flourish" relationship between Indonesia and Sweden.
Seamless is interpreted as a relationship that flows smoothly continuously like water. The Dayak tribe of Kalimantan has a close relationship with river waters, because they often use this natural resource for their main daily livelihood. This relationship is also routinely expressed through their unique motifs, where there are lines that continue to connect wherever the line is drawn like water that continues to flow. My design aims to convey a similar message, where the available visuals will be connected continuously.
Harmonious is interpreted as the main meaning that the Dayak Kalimantan batik motif wants to convey, namely the harmony of culture in the midst of diverse communities. Although there are various different cultures, there will always be beauty when these differences are juxtaposed together. This is depicted through the harmonious unity between the symbols of water with flora and fauna in the design.
Flourish is interpreted as the hope to grow together, depicted through the elements of flora and fauna contained in the design. It is fitting that plants that always grow along with the flow of water, are complemented by two fauna that symbolize the majesty and sustainability of animals. This is conveyed through the visual of deer as the king of the forest from Sweden, and orangutans from Indonesia which are considered to have an important role in forest regeneration."

NOMINATE
This is wild. Love the Dalamoose. Nice use of contrast red. Also interesting with the Kalimantan touch, so it’s not all Java.
