Deskripsi
this design embodies a harmonious blend of Sweden's nature and the intricate strokes of Indonesian Batik. Each main elements of the design are inspired by Swedish folk art, Sweden's national flora and faunas thereby captured in Sweden's beautiful landscape. The meaning behind the design was also inspired by Gunnar Ekelöf's poem called "Sung", it said "a window, a blossoming branch that is enough, no blossom without earth, no earth without space, no space without blossom" this poetry is giving the metaphorical frame of human being to observe and connect with nature, as well as a simbolization of life and growh. The batik element is likewise influenced with John Bauer's illustration that embrace Sweden's folklore/mythology that also connected with the nature. According to the inspiration behind the art style, I want to meticulously incorporate the Swedish elements with "isen-isen" to make a balance of the Batik's characteristic that contained "klowongan", "isen-isen", and "hiasan pinggir". Traditional Batik elements were also highlighted in modified Parang, Kawung, and Mega Mendung motifs. Color combinations that used in this design is representing Sweden's national identity.
